People Walking (IMAGE) West Virginia University Caption A new study led by WVU School of Nursing researchers Angel Smothers and Stephanie Young suggests that faith-community nurses may be effective at promoting adherence to an exercise program. The study centered on 14 members of a church who participated in a 12-week walking and exercise program, with guidance from a faith-community nurse. The participants reported having more energy and more time for exercise after completing the program.
