Adapting to Touch (1 of 2) (IMAGE)
Caption
Georgia Tech researcher Wenzhuo Wu holds an array of piezotronic transistors capable of converting mechanical motion directly into electronic controlling signals. The arrays are fabricated on flexible substrates. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the April 25, 2013, issue of Science Express, published by AAAS. The paper, by Wenzhuo Wu at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga., and colleagues was titled, "Taxel-Addressable Matrix of Vertical-Nanowire Piezotronic Transistors for Active/Adaptive Tactile Imaging."
