Today's bread wheat originates from three ancestral grass species and results from two consecutive hybridizations. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 17, 2018, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium and colleagues was titled, "Shifting the limits in wheat research and breeding using a fully annotated reference genome."
