Building a Better Bridge (IMAGE) Boston Children's Hospital Caption Murray envisions ACL repair as a simple outpatient procedure. First, blood is drawn from the patient. The platelets and plasma in the blood are extracted and combined with a collagen hydrogel. The gel mixture is then injected between the torn ends of the ACL through a small incision in the patient's knee. The repair is completed with one or more sutures.
