A post-fire forest in eastern North America, where regeneration is relatively scarce is shown. Under projected climate conditions, such situations may occur more often in the circumboreal forest. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 21, 2015 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by S. Gauthier at Natural Resources Canada in Québec, QC, Canada, and colleagues was titled, "Boreal forest health and global change."
