University of Texas at Dallas researchers have made artificial muscles by twisting and coiling ordinary fishing line. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the Feb. 21, 2014, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Carter S. Haines at the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas, and colleagues was titled, "Artificial Muscles from Fishing Line and Sewing Thread."
