Base editing for progeria treatment (IMAGE)

Progeria is caused by a mutation in the nuclear lamin A gene in which one DNA base C is changed to a T. Researchers used the base editing method, which substitutes a single DNA letter for another without damaging the DNA, to reverse that change.
