Large-scale natural regeneration of Atlantic Rain Forest in the coastal mountain range in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil at Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu. The forest regrowth is about 30 years old. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the May 13, 2016, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by R.L. Chazdon at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn., and colleagues was titled, "Carbon sequestration potential of second-growth forest regeneration in the Latin American tropics."
