Fires in Northwest Territories, Canada

In 2013 so far, there have been 213 wildfires affecting over 690,000 acres (279,000 hectares). This natural-color satellite image was collected by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA's Terra satellite and shows a sprinkling of fires throughout the Northwest Territories in Canada.
