Photograph of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, a weed found throughout much of the northern hemisphere. Genetically, the global population is diverse, and populations of A. thaliana show diverse life history, physiological, and morphological traits. This image relates to article that appeared in the July 20, 2007, issue of the journal Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. Richard Clark and colleagues of Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tübingen, Germany, was titled "Common Sequence Polymorphisms Shaping Genetic Diversity in Arabidopsis thaliana."
