These are pedigree branches showing transmission of putative hemophilia from Queen Victoria of England to her descendants in European royal families. This image relates to an article that appeared in the October 8 issue of Science Express, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. E.I. Rogaev of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Mass., and colleagues, was titled, "Genotype Analysis Identifies the Cause of the 'Royal Disease.'"
