Captain Paul Essig, Assistant Chief of Naval Research, congratulates Dr. Jagadeesh Moodera from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, for being a recipient of the 2009 Oliver E. Buckley Condensed Matter Prize, during a visit to the Office of Naval Research booth as part of the American Physical Society conference. Dr. Moodera, a long-standing grant recipient with ONR, was recognized for his work in the field of spin-dependent tunneling and for the application of these phenomena to the field of magnetoelectronics.
