Scientist Bill Kimball works at the thermal engineering company Vacuum Process Engineering (VPE) in Sacramento, California. The company licensed Sandia National Laboratories' SEARCH software suite, used to design micro-channel heat exchangers. VPE previously worked with Sandia to develop the technology through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement. The Federal Laboratory Consortium recognized the partnership with a national technology transfer award.
