Terra image of Ema (IMAGE) NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Caption On Oct. 13 NASA's Terra satellite passed over Ema when it was still a tropical storm, but weakening. Strong convection was limited to the area north of the center of circulation due to southwesterly wind shear. The storm appears shallow other than that area of strong thunderstorms.
