The antibodies present in the body after a previous infection or vaccination are less protective against infection with SARS-CoV-2 variants B.1.351 (South Africa) and P.1 (Brazil). The effect of antibodies already approved as drugs for Covid19 therapy also differs among SARS-CoV-2 variants.
