Nearly 10 Million US Adults Severely Nearsighted, Study Finds

Nearly 10 million adults in the US are severely nearsighted, putting them at risk for potentially debilitating complications, according to a new study being published in Ophthalmology, journal of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. The study also found a rare and potentially blinding complication of severe nearsightedness is twice as prevalent in women compared to men.
