The bright whiteness of the Cyphochilus beetle is unusual in nature. This image relates to article that appeared in the January 19, 2007, issue of the journal Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. Peter Vukusic of Exeter University in Exeter, UK, and colleagues, was titled "Brilliant Whiteness in Ultrathin Beetle Scales."
