Zipline Injuries (VIDEO)
Caption
As the popularity of ziplining grows, so do the number of injuries related to it. Researchers at The Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children's Hospital charted injuries between 1997-2012, and saw an increase of nearly 56 percent in the number of injuries in just the four years of the study. In all, nearly 17,000 people were treated for zipline-related injuries at emergency departments across the United States. In 2012 alone, there were an average of nearly 10 injuries treated per day.
