The Rothamsted vertical-looking entomological radar (VLR) was used to quantify migration intensity, biomass and seasonal movement of larger insects. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Dec. 23, 2016, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by G. Hu at Nanjing Agricultural University in Nanjing, China, and colleagues was titled, "Mass seasonal bioflows of high-flying insect migrants."
