This photograph shows an eel in mid-attack on a fish that has been immobilized by the high-voltage output. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Dec. 5 2014 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by K. Catania at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and colleagues was titled, "The shocking predatory strike of the electric eel."
