Continent-Wide Look at Vole Populations (7 of 9) (IMAGE)
Caption
Like related species, common vole populations used to have high amplitude fluctuations in abundance. There has been a continent-wide decrease in the amplitude of those fluctuations. This image relates to a paper that appeared in 5 April, 2013, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Thomas Cornulier at the University of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, UK, and colleagues was titled, "Europe-Wide Dampening of Population Cycles in Keystone Herbivores."
