Drones riding buses? (VIDEO) Stanford University School of Engineering This video is under embargo. Please login to access this video. Caption Aerial package delivery could help reduce traffic congestion associated with e-commerce truck delivery, but the limited range and payload capacity of drones impose practical limits on that option. Stanford researchers have created an algorithm that can direct drones to hitch rides on buses to extend their range, and send them aloft for the last hop to their destination. Simulations on bus systems in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. show promise.
