Neurons and dendrites form a fractal network on top of a large electrode in the left side of the image. University of Oregon physicist Richard Taylor is leading a project to develop tiny fractal inspired electrons that will efficiently connect with neurons to restore vision loss in people with retinal diseases. Taylor's student Willem Griffiths used false colors to highlight the activity on the electrode.
