This is a photograph from one of the PLUME research cruises. Shown in this image are the components of various seismometer acquisition packages sitting on the deck of the ship. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Dec. 4 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. C.J. Wolfe at University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu, Hawaii, and colleagues, was titled, "Mantle Shear-Wave Velocity Structure Beneath the Hawaiian Hot Spot."
