The uptake of TRPV1 into human kidney cells depended on colocalization with the protein clathrin (red). This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Jun. 19, 2019, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by J. Liu at Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China; and colleagues was titled, "CDK5 inhibits the clathrin-dependent internalization of TRPV1 by phosphorylating the clathrin adaptor protein AP2μ2."
