NASA's NIRSpec Clean Room Move (IMAGE) NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Caption Engineers hoisted NASA's Webb telescope's Near Infrared Spectrograph or NIRSpec from its shipping container to a dolly in the clean room at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. NIRSpec uses infrared light to analyze the physical properties and chemical composition of distant galaxies, stars and planets. NIRSpec was provided by the European Space Agency and built by EADS/Astrium. Webb is an international project led by NASA with its partners the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency.
