3-D visualization of thymus vasculature in mice on days 0, 4, 7 and 14 after a non-lethal dose of radiation. The volume of vasculature in the thymus steadily decreased after damage. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 12 January 2018, issue of Science Immunology, published by AAAS. The paper, by T. Wertheimer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY, and colleagues was titled, "Production of BMP4 by endothelial cells is crucial for endogenous thymic regeneration."
