The deep-sea drilling vessel Chikyu at Site C0020 during the IODP Expedition 337. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the July 24, 2015, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by F. Inagaki at Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) in Nankoku, Japan, and colleagues was titled, "Exploring deep microbial life in coal-bearing sediment down to ~2.5 km below the ocean floor."
