This is a replica of the Denisovan finger bone on a hand. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 31, 2012, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by M. Meyer at Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, and colleagues was titled, "A High-Coverage Genome Sequence from an Archaic Denisovan Individual."
