Three males lacking any Y chromosome genes produced by ROSI are shown. The males shown on the left and right are 2 years and 1 month old, and the male in the center is 1 year and 10 months old. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Jan. 29, 2016 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Y. Yamauchi at University of Hawaii in Honolulu, HI, and colleagues was titled, "Two genes substitute for the mouse Y chromosome for spermatogenesis and reproduction."
