Stackley, assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition, during an event held at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. In 1940, Sir Henry Tizard and a small British delegation brought with them to the United States and Canada plans for more than 20 technologies, most importantly the cavity magnetron, which made possible radars that were both small and powerful.
