Soccer ball air pressure can reduce head injuries (VIDEO)
Caption
The average soccer player heads the ball 12 times in a game, and each header carries up to 100g acceleration, enough to cause serious brain damage. A Purdue study led by Prof. Eric Nauman quantifies how inflating balls to lower pressures, and subbing them out when they get wet, has the potential to reduce head injuries by about 20%.
