Jet back, glass-covered pillow flows that erupted in 2015 rest on top of older, lightly sedimented lavas in the Northern Rift Zone of Axial Seamount. Water depth is 1816 m. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Dec. 16, 2016, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by W.S.D. Wilcock at University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., and colleagues was titled, "Seismic constraints on caldera dynamics from the 2015 Axial Seamount eruption."
