There are more renewed arterioles and arteries (green) at the peri-infarct myocardium at 28 days after NF/VEGF treatment in pigs. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 8, 2012, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by Dr. Y.-D. Lin at Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan, and colleagues, was titled, "Instructive Nanofiber Scaffolds with VEGF Create a Microenvironment for Arteriogenesis and Cardiac Repair."
