Biosensor Measures Glutamate in the Brain

The researchers succeeded in measuring the activity and quantity of glutamate molecules released by a neuron from a single synaptic vesicle. By constructing a glutamate sensor with an ultra-thin layer of enzyme, they improved the recording speed a thousand times compared to previous technologies.
