Axonal growth in human neural stem cells was stimulated in the presence of myelin derived from either monkeys or rats. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 23 May, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by G.H.D. Poplawski at University of California, San Diego in La Jolla, Calif.; and colleagues was titled, "Adult rat myelin enhances axonal outgrowth from rat neural stem cells."
