Crystallized enzyme for ethane degradation (IMAGE)
Caption
Image of the crystallized enzyme for ethane degradation - the ethyl coenzyme M reductase. This photo was taken from a binocular and shows different yellow crystals of 0.1 mm size. The amber-like color derives from the F430-cofactor harbored by the protein. Obtaining crystals is a necessary step for the X-ray crystallography technique.
