ASU Undergraduate Students Work in a Neuroscience Lab with a Faculty Mentor (IMAGE)

An Arizona State University study conducted by 14 undergraduate students and their research mentors, found that more than 50% of life sciences students who participated in the study considered leaving their undergraduate research experience. Ultimately, more than 50% decided to leave. They also found the most important factors that influence whether a student decides to continue working in a research lab included a positive lab environment, enjoying their everyday research tasks, a flexible lab schedule and inclusiveness.
