Using optical resolution photoacoustic microscopy, researchers conducted label-free imaging of the vascular development in the heart and brain regions of the zebrafish embryo. Images a-c show the heart at 22, 25 and 28 hours after fertilization, respectively. In d-f, the microvascular development in the brain is shown at 36, 48 and 72 hours after fertilization, respectively. (H: Heart E: Eye)
