The site of Tell Qaramel situated in northern Syria, with small round houses dating to 10,200 years ago. The inhabitants consumed wild wheat. Excavated by archaeologist Prof. R. Mazurowski, Warsaw. This image relates to article that appeared in the 31 March 2006 issue of the journal Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. K. Tanno at Research Institute for Humanity and Nature in Kyoto, Japan and colleagues, was titled "How Fast Was Wild Wheat Domesticated?"
