This animation of NOAA's GOES-East satellite imagery of Emily from July 30-Aug. 1 shows the storm really coming together on July 31 along the central west coast of Florida, then tracking east over the state and exiting into the Western North Atlantic Ocean on Aug. 1. Clouds in a line south of the center of Emily are associated with a stationary front.
