Oikopleura dioica are marine pelagic tunicates. These organisms are transparent in the ocean and rendered visible by the addition of milk to the seawater. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Nov. 18, 2010, issue of Science Express, published by AAAS. The study, by France Denoeud of CNRS in Evry, France, and colleagues was titled, "Plasticity of Animal Genome Architecture Unmasked by Rapid Evolution of a Pelagic Tunicate."
