This map of wildlife management units in the state of Pennsylvania shows the five areas where deer were captured for this study. Values in parentheses indicate the percentage of forest cover for each unit. Previous research at Penn State revealed that the amount of forest cover on the landscape greatly influenced how far deer that disperse travel.
