Chiew Larn Reservoir is surrounded by Khlong Saeng Wildlife Sanctuary and Khao Sok National Park, which together make up part of the largest block of rainforest habitat in southern Thailand (more than 3,500 square kilometers). This image relates to a paper that appeared in the 27 September, 2013, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Luke Gibson at National University of Singapore in Singapore, and colleagues was titled, "Near-Complete Extinction of Native Small Mammal Fauna 25 Years After Forest Fragmentation."
