A special kind of antenna used to image the Earth like an ultrasound scanner trails behind the research vessel Marcus Langseth. Seismic investigators at University of Texas Institute for Geophysics used supercomputers at the Texas Advanced Computing Center Seismic to analyze a seismic image of a subduction zone in precedented detail.
