This image shows IBM Blue/Gene Q with a zoom photo of the I/O Subsystem. IBM, EPFL, and ETH are collaborating on a new hybrid memory strategy for supercomputers using both flash and DRAM. When the new memory is installed in the Fall 2013 at the Swiss National Supercomputing Center it will efficiently integrate 128 terabytes of flash memory with 64 terabytes of DRAM memory.
