Image of human cervix tissue and organoids derived from ectocervical stratified squamous (green) and endocervical columnar (red) epithelial stem cells. Ectocervix can only give raise to stratified organoids, however endocervix contains two stem cells that can give raise to columnar and metaplastic stratified organoids.
