Choanoflagellates Flip from Ball to Cup (VIDEO)
Caption
A newly discovered species of choanoflagellates performs a flip, inverting from a ball of cells with tail-like flagella pointing outside to a cup-shaped form with flagella inside. The species, named C. flexa for its abilities, may use the ball form for swimming and the cup form for feeding.
