Left Superior Frontal Region (IMAGE) Lifespan Caption Researchers from the Miriam Hospital found that when individuals who have lost significant amounts of weight, and kept the weight off for several years, were shown pictures of food, they were more likely to engage the areas of the brain associated with behavioral control and visual attention, compared to obese and normal weight participants. Specifically, strong signals were observed in the left superior frontal region (pictured) and right middle temporal region of the brain. Credit J.
