Prototype of gastric resident drug delivery system featuring Malvika Verma and Feyisope Eweje and John A F Salama. Verma et al. developed a drug delivery system consisting of bead-like drug pills on a shape memory wire that resides in the stomach for long-term, multigram dosing and is compatible with nasogastric administration. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Mar. 13, 2019, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by M. Verma at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA; and colleagues was titled, "A gastric resident drug delivery system for prolonged gram-level dosing of tuberculosis treatment."
